About Us

Crossroads Care Kent is dedicated to supporting unpaid Carers in Kent by providing quality services that allow them to maintain a life of their own outside of their caregiving responsibilities. We strive to keep families together and ensure that Carers have access to the breaks and support they deserve, enabling them to continue their invaluable role in society. Through our tailored services and advocacy efforts, we empower Carers to live fulfilling lives while caring for their loved ones.

The soap opera ‘Crossroads’ featured a storyline where Sandy Richardson, the son of the Crossroads Motel owner Meg Richardson (played by Noel Gordon), had a car accident and was paralysed. His mother had to care for him at home.

Anglia Television donated £10,000 to set up a pilot project in Rugby with the aim of supporting carers in a practical way. In its first year of operation, Crossroads supported just 26 families.

The first scheme in Kent opened in Gravesend

A further 9 schemes opened in Kent and Medway making a total of 11 Crossroads Care in 1993

By 2012 Crossroads Care was supporting over 43,000 carers and their families through a national network of local Crossroads Care schemes

The final Kent merger took place in April 2015, between Crossroads Care East Kent and Crossroads Care West Kent, to become Crossroads Care Kent, as we are known today

We now employ over 200 staff and support 6000+ people every year through a variety of services and projects
