Join our growing team of volunteers and help us make a real difference in the lives of unpaid carers across Kent.
At Crossroads Care Kent, we believe in the power of community and the incredible impact volunteers have on the lives of unpaid carers. By volunteering with us, you become part of a dedicated team committed to supporting those who selflessly care for their loved ones.
Your time and effort will directly contribute to improving the lives of carers and those they support. Whether you're offering a friendly chat, providing respite, or helping with daily tasks, your role is invaluable.
We provide all the necessary training to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your volunteer role. Our training programmes cover everything from basic care techniques to specialised support for specific needs.
We understand that our volunteers have busy lives, which is why we offer flexible volunteering opportunities. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or a few hours a month, we can find a role that fits your schedule.
As a volunteer, you'll become part of a close-knit community that values your contribution. Enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded individuals and benefit from ongoing support and recognition.
All out of pocket expenses, including mileage, are paid. We currently reimburse volunteer drivers at 40p per mile.
We currently have a wide range of volunteer opportunities. From being a volunteer driver for our Macmillan Volunteer Service, providing companionship to a carer or someone they care for, or helping in the office with administrative tasks — there's a role to suit everyone.
Support our Macmillan Volunteer Service by driving carers and the people they care for to appointments, social activities, and essential errands across Kent.
Offer a friendly chat, a listening ear, and valued company to a carer or the person they care for — giving carers a much needed break.
Help our office teams with administrative tasks, data entry, mailings and events — essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps our services running smoothly.
If you're ready to make a difference and join a team of compassionate individuals, we'd love to hear from you. Visit our volunteer application page to learn more about the current opportunities and how to apply. Together, we can continue to provide essential support to carers in Kent and help them lead fulfilling lives.
Claire Battersby, our Macmillan County Lead, speaks about the Macmillan Volunteer Service on Deal Radio — what the service offers, the impact it has on carers across Kent, and how volunteers can get involved.
