Young carers face unique challenges throughout the year, and Christmas is no exception. While their peers enjoy festive cheer, young carers continue to balance their responsibilities at home, which can take a toll on their schoolwork, wellbeing, and personal time.
Recognizing their dedication, Sir Ed Davey and the Bath Philharmonia’s Young Carers Choir have collaborated to create Love is Enough, a moving Christmas song written by young carers themselves. Having cared for his mum during her battle with cancer as a child, Sir Ed Davey deeply understands the pressures young carers face and the importance of providing them with support, especially during the festive season.
The song, co-created by six young carers with Bath Phil’s Creative Learning Team, is a heartfelt tribute to their experiences and the bonds they share with the people they care for. It shines a much-needed light on the vital role young carers play and the sacrifices they make.

If you’re a young carer in Kent, or know someone who is, Crossroads Care Kent is here to help. At Crossroads Care Kent, we provide tailored support to help young carers balance their responsibilities and personal wellbeing.
We work with schools to ensure young carers get the support they need, offer regular group nights for socializing and respite, and provide activity days during school holidays for much-needed downtime. We also offer emotional support through workshops and one-on-one counselling, as well as skills-building workshops to help boost confidence and resilience.
Whether through direct support, advice, or group activities, our mission is to ensure young carers across Kent have the resources they need to thrive.
